Kayo O'Young Canadian Studio Pottery Vase is extra large standing 12 7/8 inches high and being 10 inches wide.  It is the width here that gives this piece a monumental look.
The Gunmetal Glaze is Exceptional with a hand technique all across the outside of the body.  The inside also shows the skill of the potter with great upward throwing lines. Great combination of skills.
Kayo O'Young is recognized as one of Canada's finest porcelain potters.  His work is featured in the most prominent Canadian Ceramics museums.
This piece is signed and dated 2009.  It came from the estate of a prominent Canadian ceramics collector.
