This is a rare autographed souvenir program from the February 1966 engagement of the RICHARD ADLER and JERRY ROSS musical comedy "THE PAJAMA GAME" at the Phoenix Star Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona. (The Original Broadway production opened May 13th, 1954 at the St. James Theatre in New York City and ran for 1061 performances.) ..... The musical starred JOHN RAITT (who signed his bio page) and featured KIT SMYTHE, LELAND PALMER, LEONARD DRUM, JIM DEMAREST, YSABEL MacCLOSKEY, ERIC BROTHERSON, MURIEL LANDERS, NORMAN PALMER and MICHAEL BENNETT ..... Side Note: Later in the year, JOHN RAITT would star in the short-lived Broadway musical "A Joyful Noise" (12 performances), which marked the Broadway Choreography debut of MICHAEL BENNETT. His assistant choreographer for "A Joyful Noise" was LELAND PALMER, who also appeared in the show ..... The program was signed by JOHN RAITT (inscribed, "To Deidre, Many Happy Returns and Memories - My Best,") and will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity ..... CONDITION: With the exception of light soiling, creasing at the corners and minor edge wear, this program is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
