    Description

    Carving duplicator
This is an amazing, three-axis carving duplicator.
It is designed to allow you to duplicate a model of almost anything in wood.
It was home-made years ago, by a guy who really knew what he was doing.
The operation is very similar to the TerrcoF-200 Dupli-carver.
If you look that up, you can get a good idea on how this works, and techniques to best use it.
It is based on a router and stylus.
As your stylus touches your model, the bit mounted in the router carves away the wood up to that point in space. You use smaller and smaller styli and cutters to get closer to the final form. The router and stylus move up and down and back and forth on a counterbalanced arm assembly, and left and right on a steel bar. They also swing in and out in an arc around that bar.
The carving piece and model move on turntables that rotate 360 degrees, to carve the sides and back of your piece, if needed.
The motion is made easy by a counterbalance under the table, and linear bearings on the rod.
It can copy almost any 3D or flat object, small statuary, signs, furniture pieces, etc. On the other hand, I am not sure it would do a rifle stock, unless you fashioned a jig that rotated the stock on a horizontal axis.  Some sanding and hand carving may be needed at the end of this process, unless you are going for a rustic look.
The router takes ¼ inch and smaller (with a collet) shafts only, .
Will include about 0 worth of styli and cutters, burs, etc.  .
The table top is 24 by 48, and 40 inches high.
The carving capacity is huge; approximately 20 inches or so above the table, and probably 30 inches front to back, with the rotating platters.
I have never tried to carve something this big, but the capacity is there.
Local pickup only.  The table is on heavy-duty retractable wheels and moves easily around the shop.
This thing is heavy and large, and will require some disassembly to move.
How much disassembly depends on what size vehicle you bring.
I can help you get it to your vehicle.
