  • Condition: This auction is for a B.C. Ceramics ashtray and vase from the 1950's. Both were part of their iconic West Coast Indian Design series, designed by Herta Gerz. Both pieces have a wonderful abstract Mid Century Modern shape. The vase has a colorful Thunderbird and the ashtray shows an equally colorful Eagle. Marked on the bottom of the vase is "CANADA 2214 A WEST COAST INDIAN DESIGN". The ashtray is marked "WEST COAST INDIAN DESIGN 4044 CANADA", it also has a fully intact B.C. Ceramics logo sticker. Vase measures 6 1/2" tall by 3 1/4" across and ashtray is 4" by 41/4". The ashtray is in excellent condition, vase has had a chip off the glaze on the back that the original owner glued back on.
